Open Office and LibreOffice are full Office Suites like Microsoft Office. You can download all or just the word processor in these. In looking for a free word processor, there are so many options. Even as simple as the one that is included on most computers, which is Microsoft Word, Wordpad or Notepad. yWriter is very similar to Scrivener and is free. The gentleman who created it is very nice and helpful. I have read things he has posted on the internet.
