I realize this isn't writing software but editing software, but has anybody used it? Other than the free scaled down version? I think it looks useful, like something I could use before going to Scribophile or Critique Circle, so that I don't have any of the obvious flaws like over using words and all the other stuff it checks for. I think it seems like it's worth getting, but it's kind of expensive, so if anybody has experience with it, I'd love to hear about it before plunking down real money for it.

You might want to check out this review before putting down cash: cmskiera.blogspot.com/2013/03/online-editing-software-pro-writing-aid.html#.U16ioVf74g8Generally, though, editing and grammar software do not work all that well. If I were you, I would put the money toward Scribophile and Critique Circle. You also might want to invest in software that helps you plot out your story instead. The problems Autocrit looks for will dissipate as you write more. You also want to learn to catch them yourself.

I used the free one a bunch of times and am tantalized by all the shiny things it won't show me. But best to get my writing tightened up organically, and as I use both Scrib and CC, what need for an automated thing?
