Hi jackierandom, could you change the Science Fiction to Science Fiction/Fantasy?
Also, under the Internet Site: Writing Right - maybe indicate it is for listing writing groups and blogs, things like that? Or another forum?
We don't want to get too many forums 'cause people have a tendency on boards to just add to the thread they are in or think of something in a thread and forget or not go to the right one later. Some use of this website will shake out what we want.

Should we also have a thread where we post our novel info? You know, the synopsis?

Thank you for the suggestions. I have made the first changes you requested. I think the synopsis should go into the individual genre threads. If anyone has any discussion on this, please post.

Boomboom, I like the synopsis in the genre thread idea. Those all need something to spark them off.
I'd like a place to ask for research help. Not sure if it should be a board or if I should start a general research help thread somewhere. A board would allow each research request to be found easily. But are we getting too complicated? Should I just use the research forum on the general nano site?

Hi there again - I was thinking we should have a section or forum on Publishing/Self-Publishing.
Re the research help thread - yes, I was thinking about that myself. I think jackie did a good job with the forum titles, but it will also shake out to which ones are the most used and which need to be merged or renamed.
I would think the Writing Hardware one could be changed to something else. Is there really writing hardware any more? Pen, computer, typewriter and all use paper. Not much to discuss there. Perhaps that one can go bye-bye and be replaced with the publishing or research one - or those two can be merged into one.

Yes, Boomboom on coming up with a general title that would cover issues like publishing & research, and maybe even selection feedback - though on that last, I don't want to get anyone hooked on editing & not writing who isn't already a rebel.

I agree with the both of you. Oops on the Writing Hardware LOL.... well, I was just trying to flesh out the board in the beginning!! What do you think of a Research Request sub forum in either Camp Activities or Computer Stuff? And for the Publishing/Self Publishing -- do you just think a sub forum would be good enough? Or a category of it's own and have several sub forums under it? I am not familiar with that topic and don't know what discussions would likely pop up.

Put it in camp activities as the research isn't likely to be computer related. On publishing, I'd suggest starting with a sub forum.

Jackie, those of us in the "influenced by true events" cabin - now called the Forget-We-Nots - wondered if it would be possible to have a thread here where our cabin can continue to chat amongst ourselves after July camp is over. those in other working cabins might want something similar. What do you think? Could we have a post-camp board of cabin threads? Or would this fit into one of the existing boards?

I still say the "Writng Right" should be "Writing Correctly" ;-)

I will put in a post camp cabins where anyone who enjoyed their cabin can post a thread with the name of the cabin and they can keep that thread going. Sounds like a great idea.

Thanks Jackie... Though it seems like a ghost town around here. I hope people begin to trickle back after post-NaNo rest.

No problem! I hope to be here more often and am thinking of a new story. July surely wasn't the kindest month personally for me. I'm glad everyone decided to hang around.

People will definitely trickle back, and maybe they will bring friends, too. This is too good a place to just leave it. Thank you again, jackie, for making this possible!

You are very welcome
I love to do anything on the computer and it's been a learning experience putting it together and afterward. I hope everyone continues to enjoy the board and we are all here in November together. Definitely invite anyone you would think would enjoy the atmosphere here. Again, I want to say I love the diversity - so anyone with an interest in Nano or writing in general is welcome. As a beginning writer, it's been nice to feel welcome. A lot of boards are too far advanced for me. And while I applaud those who are very serious in their pursuit of being published, writing for fun has it's own reward also. I've written more than I ever thought I would in these two camps. I've always dreamed of being a writer all my life - the fear of not being good enough or not doing it perfectly or not being educated enough in the attempt has been an obstacle. Being able to join in Nano has been a little push to get me over that hump. It's been fun to run around the keyboard writing whatever I wish and not worry about it being a perfectly written or finished story. And meeting all of you has certainly been the silver lining
