Hi! And welcome to Writer's Cramp! This thread is for you to post a quick intro about yourself before the rest of the boards open up for you. Remember, this thread has only the most basic protection against the public reading it - all you have to do is sign up - so don't put anything down that you wouldn't want the public to read. A couple of questions to get you started: Where did you hear about us? What kind of writing are you doing or looking to do? What prompted you to sign up here? We're always happy to see a new face, so don't be shy. Start posting so the other boards will open up for you and you can more fully join in. Do Not Post An Email Address Here! It has a high possibility of getting picked up by spammer bots. The same for a webpage.

Since I'm very techno-challenged, it goes slowly.

Since I discovered NaNoWriMo and the world of writing late 2012, I've won four events (I reached about 50k each except for July camp last year was cut down to 15k because of traveling) and this year I'm attempting MilWordy (write 1,000,000 words in a year) which I've got about 2% accomplished on.
I've written stories about time travel within virtual reality, spies, and I'm working on the second draft of a pirate vs phantom thief novel with my own version of selkies, mermaids and swan maidens, which I intend to try publishing by the end of the next year.

Welcome miaclinnea & thanks for the tip about MilWordy. Hadn't heard of it before.

Sometimes I like to think I'd spend my future writing and illustrating children books about sustainable living. I have a patch of land I like to pretend is a farm, where I raise chickens and I have my pet ducks and dog to keep me entertained.

Thanks for the welcome r.elena.t! Post #5! I'm very spontaneous with my writing method, you could say I raise free range plot bunnies. It tends to leave a tangled mess behind, which is one reason editing terrifies me.

Oooo I am an absolute pantser. If I plan, I die. But I love editing, so it all works out.

Hi everyone, let's see if this works!
r.elena.t told me about this board on the NaNo forum, and since the cabin sorting is still a bit random it seemed a good idea to sign up for another writers' hangout.
I'm Cat, 44 years old, and I live in Europe. I wanted to do NaNoWriMo for years and finally took the plunge last November. I made it to 50,000 with a peculair combination of chicklit-turned-urban fantasy with a dash of romance - no idea what happened there, but maybe, one day, I will finish it.

Hi Mia and Cat! Great to see you here. My new favourite genre: "chicklit-turned-urban fantasy with a dash of romance". Have to try that one, too. No, seriously, I'm happy to get to know you, Cat. On your camp profile you mentioned you liked Preußler's Krabat as well as Alameddine's Hakawati, which are two of my (admittedly many) favourites, too. So I'm kind of curious about you now. Mia, I like your picture of raising free range plot bunnies. ^^ Kind of imagining you inside a huge bunny-run with all shapes and sizes trustfully hopping towards you.

Hi all, it's nice to meet you all. I found this place thanks to r.elena.t after Camp NaNo put me into a cabin with people I have nothing in common with. I've completed one NaNo a few years ago but I never finished the manuscript as it became stale. This camp I'm going to start fresh with a middle grade novel, I can't wait!
